Julie was a great friend and professional partner. Just the sort of person you needed to work with to get through the ups and down of general practice and still have a smile or a giggle at the end of the day .So organised with all those lists and stats she produced and she could spell much better than I can ,as she used to tease me . She coped with her illness with grace and courage and we spent more time talking about her family and social life than the tedium of treatments .She was the most lovely person and will be sadly missed but leaves a host of memories that make me smile . Lots of love to David and the rest of the family Sarah x

Julie was a wonderful human being, a thoughtful, caring, compassionate, conscientious and brilliant doctor. She was a good friend and an excellent professional partner. I think she was possibly superwoman in disguise, the way she combined all her roles at home and at work, to perfection. I miss her.😥😥

Mummy Jools was simply the best, better than all the rest! I didn't deserve to have such a wonderful mum but I am very grateful that I did. How she managed to put up with me for all those years, I'll never know! Thanks mum. I will be thinking of you, always. And don't worry, I will be sure to pass on your spiky finger dance for generations to come. Until then I will definitely try to #bemorejools . Watch this space. What a woman!! Mum was just the best. I know a lot of people use that phrase, but she really was. Her zest for life was infectious. She threw herself into everything she did. Whether it was bringing up her 3 younger sisters when her own mum died when she was just 13 years old. Or being the most terrific friend, doctor, auntie, basketballer, tap dancer, daughter in law, drinking partner, organiser, sister in law, dance mum, PTA member, grandmother, mother in law, and of course, mother. I know I will never meet a stronger woman. Her smile was the most beautiful smile, even when she wasn’t very well. Her laugh was so naughty. Her energy was extraordinary. I will miss her so very much but I will live my life to the full, just as she showed me. I will cherish the most incredible memories. My girls will always know the Wiggy Way. I am so lucky to be able to call her my mum. I will love her forever. She can rest now. That was the one and only thing she couldn’t do very well! Love Kate xxx #bemorejools

Julie/Jools/Mum/Wiggy really was the most amazing mum you could ask for. Right up until the day she died she was putting others first and making sure we would all be OK without her. She had preordered a Christmas turkey and stocked the freezer with homemade sausage rolls and pies and even ordered some early Christmas presents for her Grandchildren. She fought so hard for the 7 years since her diagnosis and spent many nights alone in hospital but she never complained about anything. In the lead up to our wedding she had been really unwell, but was still on the dance floor with a glass of wine in hand at the end of the night. Jools was always fun to be around. She loved playing (and winning) games, correcting your grammar, going all out at Christmas and cooking double the amount of food that was needed. We all love you mum and will remember everything you've taught us. Love Charlotte x

Jools was a remarkable lady with a wonderful spirit and an insatiable lust for life. Her prime thought was always for the happiness and care of others and she had an unfailing devotion and loyalty to all her family and friends. She was such wonderful fun and her humour was always warm and charming. Her intelligence and common sense was legendary. Jools' beauty and smile melted many hearts. Her final illness brought her much hardship but she approached the challenge with fortitude and courage. She was loved by all! x
